Jyske Bank Green Finance Framework

Climate is a material impact area for Jyske Bank, and we have focus on identifying business areas that can contribute to sustainable solutions and help to reduce CO2e-emissions. Jyske Bank's impact analysis demonstrates that lending accounts for the major part of the total CO2e-emission related to the Jyske Bank Group’s business activities. Therefore Jyske Bank has implemented different types of financing that support a sustainable transition focusing on climate and reduction of CO2e-emissions.

Our Jyske Bank Green Finance Framework defines five areas of lending where financing can especially contribute to a reduction of the CO2 emission and support a sustainable transition:

  • Renewable energy
  • Green buildings
  • Clean transportation
  • Sustainable use of natural resources
  • Recycling and sustainable production

Through financing of these areas of lending, we will support the following of the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals:

UN Sustainable Development Goal number 6, 7, 11, 12, 14 and 15

We have defined targets and objectives for the areas of lending chosen. They will on an ongoing basis be updated with new targets. Once a year, our Green Finance Framework Report will give an account of the development in the areas of lending chosen.

To support the growth of our lending for sustainable activities and to direct the financing of this, we have defined principles for financing of sustainable lending through the issue of green bonds from Jyske Bank A/S and Jyske Realkredit A/S.

The principles for green bonds have been defined according to ICMA’s Green Bond Principles (2018) and follow the guidelines for selection, reporting and allocation of funds.

An independent assessment of the framework has been performed by Sustainalytics. They conclude that “the Jyske Bank Group Green Finance Framework is credible and impactful”.
